Litchville fire still under investigation

An early morning fire in Litchville is still under investigation. The Tuesday morning fire destroyed about $300,000 in fertilizer. Fire investigators combed the wreckage today trying to discover the cause of the fire. Firefighters were able to save the just-built office complex only a few feet to the north. Dakota Plains Co-Op officials consider themselves lucky.

Ken Astrup – President, Dakota Plains Cooperative: “We're very fortunate that nobody was injured. Our equipment, nothing was damaged there. We still have all of our spreaders and our sprayers. So this fall we will service that area out of our other locations.”

Dakota Plains Cooperative has 8 other North Dakota facilities.
