Rick Berg tours Great Plains Food Bank

Congressman Rick Berg tours the Great Plains Food Bank for the first time. Berg met with staff and discussed the daily operations of the food bank. They also talked about Federal nutritional programs and the impact on North Dakotans. The Great Plains food bank receives 5 to 10 percent of their funding through the government. Berg says it is the government’s responsibility to help people that are hungry through government nutrition assistance programs.

Representative Rick Berg – (R) North Dakota: “The federal government needs to do is to identify what are the roles of the government and you know what should they be in and what shouldn't they be in as I said I think the more private public partnerships that we have like this, those are the ones that are delivering results.”

Great Plains officials say this is the start to building working relationships with Government officials to ensure the future of Federal Nutrition Programs.
