St. Louis County (AP) -- authorities on Saturday were conducting a water search of the Kinney mine pit for a missing 29-year-old man.
Kyle John Grave was last seen at his parents’ home in Kinney at 2:40 p.m. Friday, apparently before going fishing and swimming at the pit, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department.
When he failed to return to his group home Friday evening, his parents began looking for him, Undersheriff Dave Phillips said. Authorities were notified Saturday afternoon after the man’s fishing pole and equipment were found at the pit, which contains water 5 feet to 90 feet deep, Phillips said.
The water search Saturday by deputies and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad failed to locate the missing man. He is described at 5-feet-11-inches, 155 pounds, with blond hair and wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark T-shirt. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
