Senator Franken Visits Grand Forks to Talk with Union Workers

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - Minnesota Senator Al Franken stopped in Grand Forks to hear from union workers.

Minnesota Senator Al Franken stopped in Grand Forks to hear from union workers. Union members of American Crystal Sugar invited Franken to meet with them. In a closed meeting, they expressed concerns about health insurance, finances, and negotiations. The lockout is in its third week. Franken is urging the lockout to end.

Sen. Al Franken – (D) Minnesota: “The growers and management and have worked together hand in glove for a long time and this is unprecedented this kind of lockout and I'd like it to end as soon as possible.”

Workers want negotiations to be back on the table.
