State Budget Cuts are raising costs and lowering budgets for Minnesota counties. Clay County commissioners will soon be forced to make more than $1.7 million in budget cuts. They've already slashed $55,000 from the mental health program, and another $130,000 from Child and Community Development. County Administrator Brian Berg believes ultimately, these costs will fall on the backs of the taxpayers.
Brian Berg – Clay County Administrator: “The state has a real tough job to do that, their revenues has been cut a great deal. It's the economy that's causing this. We like to point fingers at different stages of the government and say they're not doing this part or that part, but that's not true.”
