Man sentenced for kicking officer with cleats

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates man accused of kicking a federal officer in the chest and shoulder area while wearing cleated athletic shoes has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates man accused of kicking a federal officer in the chest and shoulder area while wearing cleated athletic shoes has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 54-year-old Kevin Little Bear assaulted the Bureau of Indian Affairs officer who arrested him on suspicion of domestic violence on Feb. 26. The officer was not hurt.

Little Bear pleaded guilty on May 19 to assaulting and resisting a federal officer. He will be on supervised release for two years following his prison term.
