Almost 2 years after the collapse of Minard Hall at NDSU, the University is filing a lawsuit with the state after it was denied an insurance payment. NDSU has filed a lawsuit against the North Dakota State Fire and Tornado fund. The fund which supports $9.7 billion worth of North Dakota infrastructure and is run by the state insurance commission denied insurance claims by NDSU. Minard Hall collapsed in 2009 from the weight of heavy snow. NDSU is seeking payment from the

The insurance commission says NDSU has every right to pursue a lawsuit, and it believes it was a clear and fair ruling in denying NDSU its insurance money.
