(WDAY TV) -- For children of North Dakota Military members, it may be easier now, when transferring from school to school. North Dakota is now part of the interstate compact on education for Military children. 37-states in the nation are part of it.

It puts K-12 schools in those states on a level playing field so kids of military members can transfer easier if their parents get re-assigned.

North Dakota House member, Kim Koppelman, says, “It’s more than just the soldier, it's the family. So when a military person goes on duty and gets deployed somewhere around the world, if their mind is free that things can be ok at home, it makes a huge difference as they go to defend our country.” All 50-states aim to be a part of the pact.
