NCAA refuses to budge on UND nickname ruling

The Fighting Sioux nickname and logo will soon be no more. At a meeting at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, the NCAA refuses to change its settlement agreement with UND, which goes into effect Monday. State and UND officials say they're prepared to change UND's nickname. Governor Jack Dalrymple will introduce a bill November 7-th, transferring authority of the Fighting Sioux nickname, back to the school. Earlier this year, lawmakers passed a bill requiring the university to use the nickname and logo.
