Crookston, Minn. (WDAY TV) - An update tonight on the Thomas Fairbanks murder trial in Crookston. 11-jurors have been picked so far. 15 are needed, including 3 alternates.
2-men were chosen Today after long interviews. Fairbanks is charged in the death of Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Dewey. Dewey was shot in 2009, responding to a call. He died last August.
Once a jury is seated, the trial likely will take up to 3-weeks. The jury panel so far is made up of 3-women and 6-men from Polk County, this after nine days of selection.
