By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY

Jury selection in the Thomas Fairbanks murder trial is slow going. Just 6 jurors have been seated. The accused murderer's defense team tried to get a panel of potential jurors dismissed because they had a conversation with the wife of an officer, who responded to the shooting of Deputy Christopher Dewey. The judge denied the request. Fairbanks is charged with first degree murder, and 10 other charges. The trial is now expected to go into September.
