Kirkpatrick faces October sentencing

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - In 2 months, Gene Kirkpatrick will be sentenced after being convicted for being the mastermind in the murder of his son-in-law.

In 2 months, Gene Kirkpatrick will be sentenced after being convicted for being the mastermind in the murder of his son-in-law. Sentencing is scheduled for October 10th. Kirkpatrick was found guilty last month for conspiracy to commit murder and burglary. Authorities say Kirkpatrick paid his handyman, Michael Nakvinda, to kill Fargo dentist Philip Gattuso, back in 2009. Nakvinda is serving a life sentence after being convicted of murder. Kirkpatrick faces the possiblility of life in prison, without parole.
