Donations help make searches easier for Valley Water Rescue

The generosity of locals is making search missions more efficient for Valley Water Rescue. Four donations amounting to $13,000 will help Red River Valley rescue purchase a new sonar. $6,000 was donated by the FM foundation, $5,000 from the Alex Stern Foundation and another $1,000 each from Microsoft and an anonymous donor. Valley Water Rescue says the sonar could turn 4 to 5 day searched in to one day or just a few hours.

Pete Fendt – Valley Water Rescue: “It’s huge. It makes a difference between getting it and not getting it. So that was kind of the trigger point for us to start this off with a big donation.”

The sonar costs anywhere from $25,000-45,000.
