BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple says President Barack Obama has approved his request for the federal government to raise the flood damage reimbursement rate to 90 percent of eligible costs.
The bump from 75 percent is the result of damage across the state exceeding a threshold of $107 million.
Dalrymple says he initially requested the increased aid during a July 14 meeting in Minot with Homeland Security Secretary Jane Napolitano.
The funding will be used to recover costs for public emergency measures, debris and levee removal and repair of publicly owned infrastructure.
