MINOT, N.D. (AP) — While Minot public schools intend to start the school year late because of flood-damaged buildings, Minot Catholic schools plan to start on time.

Superintendent Terry Voiles tells the Minot Daily News that the Catholic schools' academic year will start Aug. 17 as planned.

Little Flower Catholic school was flooded by the Souris River and can't be used. Voiles says students will be moved to Bishop Ryan High School.

Voiles says about 30 percent of staff and students were displaced by the flooding this summer.
