Despite a blanket of rain in the Grand Forks area, the Red River is expected to stay below flood stage. A widespread rain shower has dropped one to four inches of rain on the Grand Forks area.

Minor to moderate flood warnings are in effect.

Parts of the Red, Wild Rice, and Sheyenne Rivers are affected.

Greg Gust – NWS Meteorologist – “Sheyenne river at Valley City it did cause some initial rises again in the runoff right near the Valley city area and into Lisbon.”

The Baldhill Dam will control most of that extra water.

But runoff is causing the river to rise.
