The Bison football team met the media this morning. Plenty of hype surrounds this squad, picked to finish 2nd in the Missouri Valley preseason poll. NDSU isn't too far removed from high expectations...just think back to 2008 and they remember the team came up short.

Coulter Boyer – NDSU Senior Defensive End: “We've addressed overconfidence more than once already, not say we are, reassure we won't be, remember a couple years ago, we underachieved going 6-5, we don't want to happen again.”

Expectations are a tricky thing for a young football team. The Bison begin fall camp getting plenty of pre-season notice, ranked as high as 6 in some polls, with 13 returning starters, most of them juniors or younger.

Preston Evans – NDSU Senior Linebacker: “How can we combat that, I feel pretty good about it there can be overconfidence, busting our butts, until we get to the season we really won't know.”

Craig Bohl – 61-30 in 8 years at NDSU: “There's not been any indication of overconfidence, but always it's a concern as a coach and a coach there isn't is a pretty ignorant coach.”

Austin Richards – NDSU Senior Left Guard: “This year's bison team is different than last year's we made a good run, we just need to maximize our potential.”

That's the challenge for the bison coaching staff this fall...there is plenty of youth and potential with this football team, a fact the starting quarterback says is a good thing.

Brock Jensen – NDSU Sophomore Quarterback: “I think it's good to be really confident, I don't think the character we have don't believe it, we know what we're capable of, matter of doing it.”

One incoming freshman will not be on the team, Danell Miles did not qualify academically.
