Officials with the Red River Valley Fair have decided nine days is just too long for West Fargo's premier July event. Next year, the Red River Valley fair will be reduced to a six day event. Fair officials hope this gives them more money to bring in bigger acts for the grand stand. They say staff scheduling problems and the fact next year's event would have started just after the fourth of July are key factors in the decision.

Bryan Schulz – Manager, Red River Valley Fair: “We look at having an event that long, people tend to say well I’ll go the next day, or I’ll go the next day and it doesn't happen. And also routing of vendors and stuff like that, those were the big reasons for looking at a six day event.”

Next year's fair will run from July 10th to 15th.
