A Hillsboro native has been charged with murdering her husband. 27-year old Amanda (Kurowski) Kaur is charged in Pennington County South Dakota with first degree pre-meditated murder. Authorities say she shot her husband, 26-year-old Ira Kaur, execution style and then staged the scene to look like a suicide.

Authorities say the killing happened in the couple's New Underwood, South Dakota home on Sunday. They say Amanda bought a gun the day before the shooting and shot Ira Kaur the next morning in the head, only wounding him. She then left the home with her two children. When she returned, authorities say she fired a second bullet into Kaur's forehead, killing him.

Ira Kaur was a sergeant at Ellsworth Air Force Base which is near Rapid City, South Dakota. He was stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base from 2005 to 2007. Amanda (Kurowski) Kaur was a 2001 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Her bond is set at $1 million dollars. She will be in court December 17 for her preliminary hearing.
