ANOKA, Minn. (AP) — A Spring Lake Park man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl last May.
Forty-eight-year-old John Heuer pleaded guilty Wednesday in Anoka County to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count each of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.
Heuer was accused of luring the girl from a St. Paul laundry on May 1 and taking her to his town house.
The charges say at the town house, the girl distracted Heuer and fled as he turned away. Neighbors found her outside. Heuer was arrested the next day hiding under a vehicle in his garage.
Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 23. The Star Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/mZ6eqo ) Heuer faces a maximum of 30 years in prison.
