Auction brings in bidders from across the country

Too wet for field work, so more than a thousand farmers from the region took in an auction. At the Fairgrounds this afternoon, Steffes Auctioneers hosted a consignment sale that brought in bidders from across North America. Many watched and participated on-line. Farmers had the chance to bid on 1,400 pieces of equipment. From tractors to combines to farm tools. Despite a rocky economy, it appears producers are weathering the storm.

Scott Steffes – Steffes Auctioneers: “Our farmers are a resilient bunch we fight mother nature all the time and a lot of time we get along with that farmers are accustomed to that as long as commodity prices stay at the level they are at we are OK as farmers like to take production risks.”
