Kirkpatrick family friend takes the stand

A new letter reveals Valerie Gattuso did not want her daughter raised by her husband Phillip Gattuso. Gene Kirkpatrick stands trial for hiring a hitman to kill his son in law Phillip Gattuso, a Fargo dentist, to gain custody of his granddaughter Kennedy. Debbie Baker offered the court some insight to the Kirkpatrick and Gattuso family dynamics. Valerie Gattuso's death became inevitable after a botched heart surgery. Before her death she had written a letter saying she did not want her husband Phillip raising their daughter Kennedy. Baker is a good friend of the Kirkpatrick family and had read the letter. She's also a witness for both the defense and prosecution.
