Fergus Falls 15, Moorhead 2

Crookston, Minn. (WDAY Sports) - Any time a spot at the state tournament is on the line the intensity ratchets up a bit, even more so in the case of today's District 9- Division 1 title game in Crookston. Moorhead and Fergus Falls squared off for the third time in three days.

Fergus Falls carrying momentum from last night's season-saving win, Pete Gaustad missles one to left. Alex Hensch scores to take a one run lead.

They were just getting started. Connor Swenson sends it to the sky on a bright sunny day, that's trouble for any infielder. That plates two more, Fergus Falls led 7-0 after 2 innings.

Moorhead breaks up the shutout in the 4th. Dan Revering with a drive to center, Abbott Aho makes a great catch in center. But Cody Rahman tags and scores.

But its too little too late. Fergus Falls makes it to state for the third consecutive season with a 15-2 win.

Boydon Lee - Fergus Falls Catcher: “It's great to be part of a team that's been to state the last three years. Not a lot of teams can say that they've done that. It definitely feels good to be part of a group of guys like I am.”

Darin Stanislawski - Fergus Falls Pitcher: “There's always nerves, some games more than others. But, I think that was good for me. All the support from my teammates helped me, and the nerves went away pretty quickly.”

Thankfully our equipment is making a full recovery, hopefully coach Nick Lewis is too.
