A Crystal, N.D., man remains in critical condition in Altru Hospital after being injured when the pickup truck he was driving early Saturday rolled over and he was ejected.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Gary Barclay, 54, was driving south on Pembina County Highway 12 about a mile south of North Dakota Highway 66, southwest of Crystal, about 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

He lost control of the 2002 Chevy pickup truck on the blacktop road, over-corrected his steering and the truck slid sideways into the east ditch, rolling several times. Barclay, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the truck. He was taken to First Care Hospital in nearby Park River, N.D., then transferred to Altru, in critical condition with back and chest injuries, according to the Patrol.

A nursing supervisor at Altru said this morning he remains in critical condition.

The truck was totaled out.
