Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - People are left picking up the pieces of early morning storms. Most damage is to homes and businesses, like Jordahl Homes, in Fargo. The large system spawned torrential rains, hail, and winds more than 70 miles per hour.
It wasn't only branches like these that got blown in last nights storm, garages were demolished and buildings were torn apart. Dawn Kartes got an early morning wake up call from the police. The call came in at about six A-M telling her that her business had been damaged.
DAWN: Um alarming. I drove here probably in less than four minuets so but yea we could of been a lot worse.
Not only was she alarmed by the call so was one of her workers.
MIKE: I get a call from Dawn and Rob that we had some damage at the office and quick scramble and get in here .
DANIELLE: The roof of her business had been struck by garage pieces from the apartment complex behind.
The roof had to be repaired immediately so no further damage would occur.
Although she received minimal damage, the residents of Amber Valley and Amber Crossing Apartments were not so lucky.
ASHLEY: I just drove in and saw see if i could even come in to the apartment complex because there is stuff everywhere and i was just in shock.
DANIELLE: Garages were demolished and cars were totaled.
The roof of one of the buildings was ripped off, forcing residents into hotels.
Now the only thing left for these residents to do now is try and pick up the pieces.
Damage estimates and the number of buildings effected aren't known.
