Minot, ND (WDAY TV) - Minot officials aren't wasting time planning for another flood. A plan is already in the works just weeks after the historic disaster. This map lays out where permanent levees may be built. It will change before construction starts. This vision is to protect the city up to 30 thousand cubic feet per second of water. A dike system would be more than a football field wide and 13 feet high. Some homes may be in harms way. Kris Doughty, a flood victim, says “I wish they could move forward a little faster with it, give us a little idea of what to expect. We have spent a lot of money re-doing our homes." The project would likely takes years to complete.
