Fire starts while homeowner tries to siphon gas out of old car

North Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Firefighters battled a blaze that got out of control, destroying a garage and car.

North Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Firefighters battled a blaze that got out of control, destroying a garage and car. It happened at 901 27th street North around noon. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and intense flames quickly engulfing the detached garage. Officials say the fire started when the homeowner tried to siphon gas out of an old car. Asst. Fire Chief, Gary Lorenz, says, “the owner of the residence was had a car that had been in the garage for a couple three years and he was siphoning gas out of the gas tank into a bucket and he turned on the ignition switch and gas ignited.” No one was injured
