St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) - A 19-year-old St. Paul man says he thought his mother's boyfriend was trying to burn him alive. Antoine Willis is being treated at Regions Hospital for second and third-degree burns. 54 year old Curtis Reed is charged with setting him on fire. Willis says he broke up an argument between Reed and his mother. Police say the suspect poured lighter fluid on Willis, who was asleep, and then ignited it. Willis says, “I ran to the back door and he was chasing me with the bottle of fluid and kept spraying it on me. I thought I was going to die because I've never been burnt alive.” Willis does not have health insurance and will need more hospital care.
