MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota has a plan if severe weather hits TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis during the U2 concert tonight.
The university says that if there is severe weather, fans will be able to go into three surrounding buildings for cover — Mariucci Arena, Williams Arena and the McNamara Alumni Center.
U2's representatives say the band will play through rain, but lightning would delay the concert. If that happens, patrons will be asked to clear the field and the stadium bowl.
The university notes that umbrellas are not permitted inside the stadium so fans are encouraged to bring rain gear to stay dry.
The National Weather Service forecast for tonight says showers and thunderstorms are likely.
