ND man convicted of murder being sentenced

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man convicted of murdering his brother in a dispute over land is being sentenced Monday. A jury in May found 45-year-old Rodney Chisholm of Manvel guilty of killing his 59-year-old brother, Donald, in June 2010.

A jury in May found 45-year-old Rodney Chisholm of Manvel guilty of killing his 59-year-old brother, Donald, in June 2010. He could face life in prison without parole.

Chisholm has been in the Grand Forks County jail since being brought back to North Dakota last July after being arrested in Nebraska. He faces three more jury trials this fall on various theft charges. The Grand Forks Herald reports that Chisholm pleaded guilty earlier this summer but a judge rejected the pleas because Chisholm would not agree with the prosecution's account of how much he allegedly stole.
