Tornado near Linton impacts farmland

(WDAY TV) - Dramatic pictures of a tornado at a family farm near Linton. It formed a few miles east of town and stayed on the ground for up to ten minutes.

The twister uprooted trees and impacted farmland. No structures were hit.

These pictures were sent to us by the Horner family. They show damage to trees on their property and a black line in the field of the tornado's path.

Another tornado, an EF-1, with winds packing 105 miles per hour hit east of Wilton. It was on the ground for 15 minutes.

Lanny Kenner of Bismarck says, "This one changed shape, started out cylindrical, straight down, but as it went northwest, at one point it ended like a z-shape."

Cass County Electric is working to restore power to more than 500 people. Two sub-stations have transmission problems. Englevale, Elliot, Lisbon, Crete, and Stirum are affected.
