GARRISON, N.D. (AP) — Hundreds of anglers are taking to the waters of Lake Sakakawea for the 36th annual North Dakota Governor's Cup walleye derby.
GARRISON, N.D. (AP) — Hundreds of anglers are taking to the waters of Lake Sakakawea for the 36th annual North Dakota Governor's Cup walleye derby.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that 180 two-person teams will compete Friday and Saturday for the $10,000 first-place prize.
Teams will launch from Fort Stevenson State Park. Weigh-ins will be at the city park in Garrison.
Last year, the top 10 teams were separated by a total of less than 3 pounds. The defending champion team is Mike Marshall of Garrison and Bill Marshall of Minot.
