West Fargo Daycare provider accused of choking child

A daycare provider in West Fargo is accused of choking a 10 year-old until he blacked out.

40 year-old Kristina Lee Bjorem is charged with aggravated assault in connection to an incident that happened in May. Bjorem runs a daycare out of her home here at 118 Second Avenue East in West Fargo which is where the alledged incident happened. Her boyfriend's 10 year-old son says Bjorem choked him until he blacked out for about 5 seconds. Bjorem says the boy was upset about a game, and had been kicking and hitting her.

Detective Trent Stanton – West Fargo Police: “The report got sent to social services. Once they got the report, then we, since it involved a possible assault, then we go out and help them investigate.”

Bjorem has already made her first court appearance, but was never arrested. Charges have been sent to the states attorney office for review.
