MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Bloomington man pulled from a burning car after crashing in Minnetonka has died.
Three men pulled 23-year-old Nathaniel Cornely from his car last Thursday after using their shirts to try to put out the fire. He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center with severe burns. He died Monday after being taken off life support.
The Star Tribune says (http://bit.ly/nhJ6kh ) witnesses told police Cornely was driving about 100 mph on Interstate 394 just before the crash.
Bloomington police had been looking for him. His ex-girlfriend told police he rear-ended her vehicle as she and a friend moved out of their apartment. She told police they stepped out, and Cornely turned his car around and sped toward them before driving off.
Minneapolis police were seeking him for another incident.
