Airport in Oakes heavily damaged by storm

Oakes, ND (WDAY TV) - Much of the airport in Oakes is also destroyed thanks to the intense storm. Two crop dusting planes have minor damage.

Much of the airport in Oakes is also destroyed thanks to the intense storm.

Owners of the damaged hangers say repairs and rebuilding will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. At least one hangar is a total loss.

Hangar Owner: “I'm sure this one we'll just tear down and start over, because it all twisted and you know, nothing left of it really.”

The airport is about 2-miles north of Oakes.
