Call it a Cinderella story. The young amateur taking the golf world by storm…a shock to some at Amy Anderson's home course.
As the summer sun beats down on the golf greens in Oxbow. Amy Anderson is becoming quite the draw at her home course.
“Everybody at work, we're following it every second of the day.”
And she's not even here. Talk on the teeing ground is all about the 18 year-olds big break at the U.S. Women's Open.
“She's just so fun to watch you know, she's really gifted.”
No matter what hole or age, everyone here is closely watching the young woman makes strides.
“We think she can go all the way.”
“Yeah, it's pretty cool.”
“She's just solid. She never makes mistakes. She's straight up straight up the middle.”
“I didn't really expect her to do that good as she is.”
All proud of the impact Amy's is making in Colorado and the honor this hometown hero is bringing the small town.
“Amy is just a nice girl. She's you know from a nice family and hometown girl so you know everybody's cheering her on because that's who you want to win.”
