Burcham was released from jail last night and will live with his sister.
Clay County prosecutors are at a dead end in the cold case 1993 murder of Sharon Stafford. Shortly before 6 p.m. last night, Clarence Burcham was found innocent on all murder charges. He had previously confessed to police, but prosecutors couldn't prove he wasn't coerced into the confession. Unfortunately for the family of Sharon Stafford, this was the only lead Clay County Prosecutors had.
Heidi Davies – Clay County Attorney: “that's it, he confessed, he was the one who had been a suspect all along and that's the end of it.”
Burcham was released from jail last night and will live with his sister.
