Members agreed this morning to not make any final decisions or commitments until next Tuesday. However, department heads have the authority to access reserve funds over the holiday weekend. Many county programs the receive some state money could be forced to shut down and-or make layoffs.
Jon Evert – Clay County Commissioner: “We certainly are in no position with our reserves to fund these major programs, our reserves simply wouldn't last more than a few days if we were to try and do that.”
The next board meeting will be 4 p.m. next Tuesday.
