MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — Jurors are deliberating a second day in a Minnesota cold-case murder trial involving a North Dakota suspect.

Forty-six-year-old Clarence Burcham of Center, N.D., is accused in the November 1993 killing of Sharon Stafford in a Moorhead mobile home park. Burcham wasn't charged until two years ago, when police say he admitted in an interview with a cold case detective to strangling his 26-year-old neighbor with an electrical cord after she called him retarded.

The Forum newspaper reports that jurors began deliberating about noon Monday and left the courthouse about 10 p.m.

Burcham could face life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder. He's also charged with a second-degree murder count that carries a sentence of about 25 years.
