Herter moves on from Fargo Force
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Fargo Force coaching offices are vacant again.By: Dom Izzo, WDAY
For the fourth straight season, the junior hockey team will have a new head coach as Jason Herter was hired today as an assistant coach for the defending national champs at Minnesota-Duluth.
Herter led the Force to a 33-22-5 record this season, losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs to eventual champion Dubuque. General manager Jon Kram says this is the way of junior hockey.
Jon Kram β Force General Manager: βIt's actually kind of a bi-product of the league. Not only is this a launching pad for players as they get college commits and they get full scholarships to division one colleges. But also for coaching, you look at our coaching and they continue to move up the ncaa level. And someone like Jason, what an opportunity to go to a national championship team and step into that organization.β
Kram said that assistant Byron Pool has been named interim coach, but a search will be underway soon...
