Salvation Army hosts 8th Annual Community PicnicFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Proof, Fargo-Moorhead is one giving community. The 8th Annual Salvation Army Community Picnic is bigger than ever.
That's all because of nearly 5-thousand dollars in donations to make the picnic possible.
As long as the grill stayed hot, hundreds came out to enjoy the largest ever Salvation Army community picnic. Dozens of area businesses donated money to the Salvation Army for the picnic. The free event gets people in the community out and getting to know one another..
Capt. Bill Mealy – Salvation Army: "this is a chance for us to let them know we care about them no matter what, whether it was help through our door, getting assistance or coming in asking for praying or whatever it maybe be."
The 5-thousand dollars worth of donations covered everything from the tents to the great tasting food and the fun.

This truly is a community event. 5-organizations including churches businesses are helping serve at the picnic. All in an effort to get to know your neighbor.
More than 100-people volunteered.
