Fargo Salvation Army gearing up to help Minot

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Salvation Army in Fargo is gearing up for the unknown with few places to house volunteers.

The need in Minot, already greater than what the agency can serve. Three people from the non-profit left Fargo today for the flooded community. Steve Carbno is packing up. He'll leave tomorrow to be the incident commander in Minot.The Salvation Army has two trucks of supplies and three canteen trucks to serve thousands of flood fighters and flood victims food and drinks in the days and weeks to come. Carbno calls the situation chaotic.

Steve Carbno – Salvation Army: “When we talk in Fargo about we have a 20 percent chance of failure, we're hearing out there we have a 20 percent chance of success and for me that's pretty disheartening.”

To make a ten dollar donation, text the word "Minot" to 80888 and reply “yes.” A one-time donation will be added to your phone bill. You can also drop off or send donations to your local Salvation Army.
