Recall petitions approved in Valley City

Facing recall
The secretary of state's office has approved petitions to recall mayor Bob Werkhoven and City Commissioner Ken Evenson. The petitions must be submitted to the city auditor by September 19th. If accepted, a recall election would be held within 90 to 100 days. A separate petition drive is already under way in Valley City to eliminate the position of city administrator.
