Oxbow homeowners denied property tax cut

Oxbow's tax values have stayed the same since 2007, when housing prices were at their peak.
People in Oxbow approached the commission, saying their home values should be reduced by 80 percent. Mayor Jim Nyhof presented documents that he says show the city's housing market has been negatively affected by the diversion. But the Cass County Assessor says a slowing market doesn't necessarily show a decline in property values. Oxbow's tax values have stayed the same since 2007, when housing prices were at their peak.
