CIRCLE PINES, Minn. (AP) — Hundreds of students gathered at their high school in Circle Pines to remember a sophomore killed by a dump truck.
The students filled the bleaches at the Centennial High School stadium Monday night to celebrate the life of 16-year-old Gina Morri of Lino Lakes. She died Thursday of injuries suffered two days earlier while running with her gymnastics teammates in Little Canada.
Morri's friend, Natalie Brust, was among a small group of students who organized the service and promoting it on social media as a way for schoolmates to gather and grieve. Brust tells KARE-TV (http://bit.ly/lkCeX5) Morri was always smiling, never had a bad thing to say about anybody and always had a positive attitude.
The students ended the service with a candlelight walk around the high school track.
