Heavy rains cause washouts near Carrington

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Some parts of the region are dealing with flooded fields and washed out roads today.

The heaviest rain fell just south of Carrington. As you can see, many fields look more like lakes. Water is standing on some roads, making them impassable, and culverts have been washed out in spots. People in Carrington say the damage is similar to that in 2009 and last year. The national weather service says their radar indicates anywhere from 5 to 6 inches fell in the Carrington area.

Dale Townsend – Carrington: “Less then an in here in Carrington from what I here up to nine inches in Melville put that is only what I've heard.”

With more rain in the forecast, it may be a while before farmers can get back into the fields.
