Souris River forcing second round of evacuationsFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - For the 2nd time in 3 weeks flooding in Minot is forcing 10 thousand people to evacuate their homes.

The mayor issued the order late this afternoon, and says they have to be out again by 10 PM Wednesday. This comes as Crews are raising the levees again, preparing for a 2nd higher crest on the Souris River. The National Weather Service says it will crest about a foot higher than it did June first. Heavy rain from Canada is part of the problem, and more water needs to be released from this Canadian dam. The public works director in Minot says they're moving an ocean through the city, so the high water will be there for some time.
Rick Hauck – Army Corps of Engineers: “Whether or not we can hold the levees we will fall back to critical infrastructure. So we, no matter what, we are bringing all the resources we can in to protect what we can based on the inflows.”
More areas of town may be added to the evacuation zone area in the coming days.
