Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A perfect day outside for the entire family. Many people enjoyed Father's Day at the Red River Zoo in Fargo, where there was extra incentives for Dad's.
For hundreds of Dad's in the Fargo-Moorhead area, Father's Day this year meant it was time for a trip to the zoo.
Adam Dominguez – Father: “It's just a day for me and the boys to get out and enjoy the good weather and have some one on one father son time.”
Officials with the Red River Zoo say Father's Day is one of the busies of the year.
Lisa Tate – Red River Zoo Executive Director: “It's a great way for families to enjoy the zoo. That's a major part of what zoo's are here for, besides conservation and education, it's for families to come and enjoy their time together.”
Busy because today, dad's get in Free.
Dominguez: “I heard it driving down the road and I figured hey, let's go spend some time at the zoo.”
Ryan Kotschevar - Father: “He likes to feed the animals a lot.”
Officials estimate the promotion has been going on for more than a decade and as father's gazed at other father's in the Animal Kingdom, more than a free ticket, today was just about family.
Kotschevar: “I love getting every chance I can to spend with him and it's a lot of fun for us to be out together doing pretty much anything.”
