Walaker not surprised by FEMA decisionFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Many in North Dakota will be forced to pay for flood damage all by themselves.
By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
As we first reported last night on WDAY, FEMA will not be giving individual assistance to help with flood damage this year. The administrator of FEMA says the flooding in the state was not of a severity and magnitude to warrant the assistance. Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker said he wasn't surprised by the news. But he also said its even more of a reason to get behind the diversion plan.
Mayor Dennis Walaker – Fargo: “I think they would be happy to see Fargo go away from the national, absolutely that's what people have to understand.”
