That's because there was a delay or "hiccup" in getting the paging system to work properly for Kindred firefighters.
The dispatch center is working out the kinks with a recent new system. There have been some problems with paging rural EMS, and Thursday night, it
did result in some delays.
Byron Sieber - RRR Dispatch: “We listened to the caller traffic that came in on the phone system, we listened to the dispatchers and call takers and radio traffic they had, and we started to put the pieces of the puzzle together to see who said what, when, what they heard, what the timing was on the calls, when the pagers set off, when they received, and if they failed, was the backup system used.”
The company that installed the new dispatch system has been to town to try and pinpoint the problem with paging rural EMS.
